Ubika Research issues a research bulletin on strategic investment by Lexam Exploration Inc. into VG Gold Corp.TORONTO, Canada - Ubika Research has issues a special research bulletin related to the news that Lexam Explorations Inc. (TSX-V: LEX) announced a strategic investment into VG Gold Corp (TSX-VG). The company announced on July 21, 2009 that Lexam Explorations Inc.(TSX-V: LEX), which is 49.4% owned by its Chairman and CEO Rob McEwen (Former CEO and Chairman of Goldcorp), has agreed to make a strategic investment in VG Gold Corp. for an aggregate subscription of 37,500,000 units issued by way of a private placement. Over 18 months this will result in more than $8M investment in VG.
Based on our research, Ubika Research always maintained that the company was undervalued. In the latest update that we had issued on the company on Apr 29, 2009 we had mentioned that VG could be an acquisition target and its assets could attract attention from a miner that is looking to expand production and resources. This announcement confirmed our analysis and further underscores our opinion.
